17-18/10/2023
On the 17th and 18th of October, the kick-off meeting for the MSA-Trough project – Development of a parabolic trough concentrator
system for Molten Salt Application, took place at the Palácio do Vimioso (University of Évora).
This project, funded by Horizon Europe (Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply), is led by the University of Évora (Renewable Energies Chair) and has the partners: Ferrum tecnoindustrial (Spain), Solarlite CSP Technology GmbH (Germany), Forschungszentrum der Bundesrepublik Deutschland für Luft- und Raumfahrt (Germany), Italian Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (Italy), Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie (France) and Rodama Maquinaria S. L. (Spain).
The solution proposed by this project is the development of an innovative parabolic solar collector system for CSP plants. This novel system uses a molten salt heat storage and enables the generation of very cost-efficient and dispatchable energy without any raw material resource limitation.
