The SALTOpower project partners met online on the 16th October in a Seminar organized by the University of Évora, within the scope of the coordination of the SALTOpower Project – European Facility on Molten SALT technologies TO power and energy system applications (HEUROPE GA 101079303), of the Renewable Energy Chair, with the collaboration from the Office for Gender Equality and Inclusion. The importance of approaching gender issues and some related concepts was analyzed and discussed, such as: the glass ceiling effect, the cement ceiling effect and the Matilda effect. Positive measures and advances in terms of gender equity and some problems that still persist were also topics of discussion.

The Plans for Gender Equality of the three partner institutions, UÉvora (project leader), DLR (German Aerospace Center) and ENEA (Agenzia nazionale per le nuove tecnologie, l’energia e lo sviluppo economico sostenibile), were compared and the strategy for monitoring and evaluating the measures to be implemented in the SALTOpower project were defined. In the next project meetings, the partners will address this topic again.
