The event brought together experts, policymakers, researchers and industry representatives to discuss the impact of Molten Salt Technologies

The portuguese symposium “Energy Strategy,” organized by the Renewable Energies Chair of the University of Évora under the European project SALTOpower, successfully took place on February 13. The event brought together experts, policymakers, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss the impact of Molten Salt Technologies on the energy sector.

Held at Casa Cordovil of the University of Évora, the symposium began with a series of presentations and debates on the potential contribution of these technologies to the goals of the National Energy and Climate Plan, industrial development, and the growth of exports.

The participants had the opportunity to visit the Évora Molten Salt Platform, located at the Évora pole of INIESC (National Research Infrastructure for Concentrated Solar Energy). This facility, part of the European Research Infrastructure Consortium ERIC EU-SOLARIS, is recognized as a center of excellence in research and development of molten salt technologies.

The “Energy Strategy” symposium stood out as a platform for dialogue and reflection on innovations and challenges in the energy sector, reinforcing the University of Évora’s role as a hub of knowledge and innovation in renewable energy.
